TUCSON, Ariz.- The sixth-ranked Arizona volleyball took on the undefeated and fourth-ranked USC Women of Troy Saturday night and put together what was perhaps one of the more satisfying wins of the season. The Wildcats (15-2 overall, 8-1 Pac-10) swept Pac-10 leading USC 15-10, 19-17, 15-12 before the largest crowd ever gathered in McKale Center for an Arizona volleyball match. The 7,298 people on hand watched UA hold the NCAA hitting percentage leaders to a mere .139 for the match and knock off one the nation's hottest teams.

The Wildcats, second in the nation in hitting, turned to their defense to stop the Women of Troy. The Cats dominated at the net outblocking USC 19.5 to 9, while digging 76 of USC's 187 attempts.

Individually, Arizona had five players record double-doubles for the match. Sophomore Stefani Saragosa led the way notching 13 kills on .500 hitting and a match-high 10 total blocks. Senior Allison Napier followed her 29 kill performance against UCLA a night ago with a team-high 15 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Lisa Rutledge broke out with 11 kills and 12 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.

The Wildcats, who had dropped only their second match of the season to 10th-ranked UCLA a night ago, regained a share of the Pac-10 lead halfway through the conference schedule. Its 8-1 record is the best mark for any Arizona team nine games into the Pac-10 schedule.

Junior Jill Talbot continued her steady play adding 14 kills and 16 digs to the Arizona effort. Setter Dana Burkholder was the fifth Wildcat to double up for the match, finishing with 53 assists and 11 digs. Senior Marisa DaLee narrowly missed out on a sixth double-dip for UA, rapping home 11 kills and blocking eight.

The Wildcats will host back-to-back Pac-10 series for the first time this season as the schools from Washington visit McKale next weekend. The Cats and Washington will meet up at 7 p.m. on Friday, while the Cougars of Washington State pay a 7 p.m. visit on Saturday.
