About the Wildcats
The 2007-08 Arizona Wildcat menˇ?s swimming team finished third at the Pac-10 championships and enter the NCAA Championships ranked second in the nationˇ? Arizona finished third at the Pac-10ˇ?s with 748.5 points, behind winner Stanford (865 points) and second place finisher California (769 points)ˇ? At the Pac-10 Championships the Wildcats won seven events including the800 yard free relay (Nicolas Nilo, Jean Basson, Darian Townsend and Joel Greenshields), 500 yard free (Basson), 200 yard IM (Townsend), 400 yard IM (Jack Brown), 200 yard free (Townsend), 100 yard back (Albert Subirats) and the 400 yard free relay (Townsend, Nilo, Subirats and Greenshields)ˇ? Arizona will have 15 swimmers competing at the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash.

The Wildcats at the NCAAs
The Wildcats will be competing in the 32nd consecutive NCAA Championship meet since 1976ˇ? The Wildcats finished runner-up in 2006 and have finished in third in both the 2007 and 2005 NCAA Championshipsˇ? Arizona has placed in the top 10 for the past 10 years starting in 1998.

The Championship Squad
The Wildcats have seven returning All-Americans, including Ivan Barnes, Jean Basson, Jack Brown, Nicolas Nilo, Albert Subirats, Jake Tapp and Darian Townsendˇ? UA returns the 100 fly and 100 back champion in Subirats along with three members (Basson, Townsend and Nilo) of the Championship 800 free relay team.

Head Coach Frank Busch
Wrapping up his 19th season as the head man at Arizona, Frank Busch brings a very talented menˇ?s team to the NCAAs. A two-time Pac-10 Menˇ?s Coach of the Year, Busch has also been recognized as the NCAA Menˇ?s Coach of the Year in 2006, 2005, and 1993 ˇ? In each of the last 16 seasons Busch has had at least one individual national champion on either the menˇ?s or womenˇ?s side and 27 individual titles overallˇ? Busch is looking for the men to repeat the womenˇ?s performance last week when they finished first and brought home the National Championship, Coach Buschˇ?s first.
