Pomezia, Italy ?- When in Rome... Arizona discovered the essence of Rome with a 71-48 win over Pomezia on Thursday night.  The win gave the Wildcats a perfect 5-0 record on their tour of Italy.

In an unforgettable game, the Wildcats battled tough with Pomezia before finally pulling away in the second half.

Arizona was led by junior Suzy Bofia who finished with 10 points and 15 rebounds, and sophomore Amina Njonkou who chipped in with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Freshman Rhaya Neabors posted 14 points and 11 rebounds, and junior Ashley Whisonant had 11 points and four rebounds.

In a closely-contested first half, Arizona was down 7-4 before a three-point play by Njonkou tied the game at 7-7 at the 6:15 mark.  The game was back-and-forth the entire first half, and the teams ended up tied at 20-20 entering the second quarter.

Arizona opened the second quarter with a 6-0 scoring run in the first minute to take a 26-20 advantage.  Then, in an unexplainable set of circumstances, the game’s referee walked off the court in frustration and did not return.

After a 10 minute delay of the game, a new referee was found, and the game continued as the Wildcats rolled in the second half.
