TUCSON - Sarah Seagraves threw four innings of two-hit ball and reliever Cami Carter closed out the fifth with two strikeouts to shut out Western Michigan, 8-0, in Game Two of the Worth Wildcat Invitational softball tourney at Arizona's Hillenbrand Stadium Friday afternoon.
OSU scored five runs, three of them unearned, to start quickly in the bottom of the first inning en route to the run-rule victory. The Cowgirls sent 11 batters to the plate, helped by a walk, hit batter and two Western Michigan errors. In the second, OSU pushed the elad to 6-0 with an RBI single by Crystal Lee.
OSU added two runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Lauren Bay and a run-scoring triple by Lee to give it the eight-run edge for the mercy rule victory.
