Wildcats Lead After One Round

OAHU, Hawaii ?- The Arizona women’s golf team is in first place after one round of play at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii.  The Wildcats carded a ten-over par 298 after 18 holes, one stroke ahead of Texas A&M University.

 

The tournament is being held at the Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course, which is a par 72, 5,829 yard course.

 

Junior Alison Walshe and sophomore Adriana Zwanck are currently tied for fourth after shooting a 74 (+2).  Junior Mary Jacobs and sophomore Amanda Wilson are one stroke behind, standing in a tie for ninth.

 

Freshman Brittany Benvenuto is in 74th place after the first round of play, shooting an 88 (+16).

 

Competing as an individual for the Wildcats is freshman Emily Mason, who is in 15th place after carding a four-over par 76.

 

The tournament continues today, with the second round beginning after the completion of 18 holes.  The final round will be played tomorrow, with a shotgun start at 7:30am.
