The No. 1-ranked Arizona softball team defeated No. 20 Oregon, 8-0. Senior Lovie Jung hit her sixth grand slam of the season in the top of the second inning.
Jung hit an RBI-single in the top of the first inning, to put the Cats up 1-0. In the second inning, a single by sophomore Crystal Farley and freshman Autumn Champion put the Wildcats on base. Sophomore Courtney Fossatti reached base off of an Oregon error. Jung then hit a grand slam over center field to put the Cats up 6-0. A two run double by junior Erin Palomarez put the Cats up for good in the fourth inning.
Freshman Alicia Hollowell won her 29th game this season. She pitched five innings and gave up two hits. Hollowell also struck out nine batters.
Arizona continues action tomorrow when the Wildcats take on Oregon State at 2 p.m.
