TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona softball team wrapped up play Sunday at the Fiesta Bowl Tournament hosted by ASU with an 8-2 win over Nevada, and a 10-1 victory over Western Michigan.

In the first game versus Nevada, sophomore pitcher Alicia Hollowell won her seventh game of the year, striking out 16 and preserving her perfect season ERA. Senior Catcher Mackenzie Vandergeest, after a rough one-for-five day on Saturday, hit a third-inning, two-run homer to left, putting the Cats ahead, 4-0.

The Cats got off to a quick start, scoring the first two batters of the game. Arizona had a 6-0 lead going into the fifth inning, when the Wolf Pack scored a pair of runs on a Wildcat error. Arizona would retaliate with another two runs in the bottom half of the fifth to put the Cats up, 8-2.

In the second game versus Western Michigan, Arizona scored leadoff hitter Caitlin Lowe to jump to an early lead. The Broncos tied the game in the bottom of the second, scoring their only run of the game. Junior Candace Abrams would lead off the second with a solo homer, her second in as many days, to put Arizona up for good.

Sophomore pitcher Leslie Wolfe pitched six innings en route to her second victory on the season, striking out six. Lowe went three-for-three with a walk and four runs. Sophomore Autumn Champion, hitting behind Lowe in the lineup, went four-for-four, scoring two runs. Lowe and Champion have combined on the season for a .565 average, 39 hits and 33 runs.

Arizona's biggest inning of the game came in the top of the sixth, when the Cats had six hits in a row to score five runs and run-rule the game in six innings.

The Wildcats will rest for a week before heading to the Palm Springs Tournament in Palm Springs, Calif. Arizona will face Penn St. at 10:30 a.m., and Georgia at 12:30 p.m., on Friday Feb. 20.
