A trio of Arizona women's tennis team members were named to the conference all-academic team Monday, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced.
To be eligible for the selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Steinberg, a sociology major, earned the first team honor with a 3.88 GPA, which was the highest GPA in the conference. She was the Wildcats' No. 1 all season and finished off her senior season with a 13-7 record in dual match singles, and an 18-12 record overall. Throughout the season, the Tel Aviv, Israel native defeated four ITA-ranked opponents on her way to Pac-10 Second Team honors.
Masschelein, a pre-business major earned her honor with a 3.87 GPA, second highest in the conference. Masschelein finished off her junior season with a 21-14 overall record in singles and went 13-16 in doubles.
Huh was one of 21 women on the Pac-10's honorable mention list. The Los Angeles native was in the Arizona lineup all season, competing in both singles and doubles.
