Chlebana, Lewis Lead Hornets to Upset of 15th-Ranked Cats

TUCSON, Ariz. (Sept. 4) Junior middle blocker Sarah Chlebana and senior outside hitter Angela Lewis combined for 33 kills, leading Sacramento State to a 16-14, 14-16, 15-4, 15-2 upset of 15th-ranked Arizona in the Embassy Suites Wildcat Classic here Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets improved to 2-1 with the win, while the Cats fell to 3-1. Both schools are 2-1.

Chlebana and Lewis each posted match-bests with 15 digs, and Sacramento State out-hit Arizona, .218-.111.

Freshman outside hitter Shannon Torregrosa (18) and junior middle blocker Marisa DaLee (17) led the Cats in kills. Sophomore setter Lauren Benward set a career-high with 51 assists.

San Diego takes on Kent State in the seventh match of the tournament at approximately 2:50 p.m. MST.
