TUCSON - The University of Arizona men's golf team will host its second home event of the 2011 spring season March 21-22, at Omni Tucson National Golf Club.

One of the finest college golf events in the nation, the 2010 National Invitational Tournament is a 54-hole event, which will be contested at Tucson National, a par 72, 7,094-yard layout. Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday, March 21, with continuous play following a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PDT. The final 18 holes will start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22.

Three of the teams in the field are ranked in the current (March 11) Golf World/Nike Golf Division I Coaches Poll, which includes (ranking): Baylor, California, Colorado State (22), Houston, Kent State, New Mexico, SMU, TCU (18), Texas (15), Texas-El Paso, Tulsa, UNLV, Wyoming and host Arizona (two squads).

The Wildcats have two top-five finishes in three spring events to date, including a win at the Anteater Invitational on Feb. 8.
