UA officials announced a sellout crowd for the Oregon State-Arizona football game this Saturday on campus.
Should OSU return any of its visiting player-guest allotment, that small number of tickets would go on sale at the stadium box office (North Cherry Avenue at East Sixth Street) at 11 a.m. Saturday, otherwise all tickets have been sold.
It's the second advance sellout of the year, following the crowd of 57,864 that filled Arizona Stadium on Sept. 18 for the Iowa-Arizona game. It also will give UA three sellouts in the past five games in Tucson, dating to last year's 57,863 crowd for the Oregon game.
Officials anticipate three remaining home dates -- Oct. 23 vs. Washington on Homecoming Weekend, Nov. 13 against USC and Dec. 2 against Arizona State -- also have the potential to be sold out in advance.
"Normally we enjoy a solid walk-up crowd buying tickets on game days, but it's evident there's a new dynamic," said James Francis, associate athletics director for external operations. "There's no question having a team ranked No. 9 in the country is a big part of that, but ticket sales for football simply have been stronger in recent years."
The game kicks off at 4 p.m. (MST/PDT) for a live broadcast on Versus. The Wildcat Walk team entry down North Cherry Avenue from the UA Mall will be at 2:15 p.m.
