Hollands and Mlakar Advance to Round of 16 in Doubles, Hollands Falls in Singles

Athens, Ga. ?- Arizona seniors Dianne Hollands and Maja Mlakar defeated Kentucky’s seventh-ranked pair of Aibika Kalsarieva and Sarah Foster, 6-2, 6-2, in the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship on Monday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. 

 

Hollands’ singles season came to an end when she lost to No. 2 Julie Coin of Clemson, 6-1, 6-1.  Coin has lost just four matches all year, all to opponents ranked in the top seven nationally.  Yesterday, Hollands defeated Ashlee Davis of Wake Forest for her 100th career singles victory.

 

No. 15 Hollands and Mlakar will face No. 21 Candice Fuchs and Megan Moulton-Levy of William and Mary in the round of 16 on Wednesday, May 25.
