TUCSON , Ariz. (AP) ?C Arizonaˇ?s Ashley Whisonant scored 20 of her 22 points in the second half to lead the Wildcats to a 65-60 victory over Oregon on Thursday.

Whisonant, Arizonaˇ?s leading scorer on the season, did not make a field goal in the first half, but made 7 of 12 shots after the break, including a driving lay-up with 24 seconds left to give the Wildcats a 64-60 lead

Arizona (8-13, 2-8), which had lost 9 of its last 10 games, also had Ify Ibekwe scoring 16, while Amina Njonkou added 11.

Taylor Lilley led Oregon (10-11, 4-6) with 22 points, with the guard making 8 of 11 shots, including 5 of 7 from three-point range.

Whisonant, who scored 15 of Arizonaˇ?s last 19 points in the game, connected on a free throw to go ahead 60-53 with 2:21 left.

Kaela Chapdelaine connected on a three-pointer to get the Ducks to within 60-58. Ibekwe responded with a lay-in before Tamika Nurse again cut the lead to two with 43 seconds left.? Whisonant responded with her drive and then had a free throw to secure the win

Lilley scored 11 straight Duck points, with her lay-up with 8:15 remaining cutting the deficit to 52-47.

Whisonant scored seven straight points to give the Wildcats a 50-40 advantage with 10:43 remaining. Whisonant connected on a mid-range jumper, two free throws and then a three-pointer with the shot clock winding down.

Rheya Neabors had a lay-in and Tasha Dickey connected on a three-pointer for an Arizona 43-36 lead.? The Wildcats had a seven-point lead earlier before Lilley broke a five-minute scoring drought to open the second half with a three-pointer to narrow Arizonaˇ?s gap to 38-34.

Arizona scored nine straight points before Lilley made a desperation 3-pointer from 30-feet out before the halftime buzzer sounded to cut the Wildcatsˇ? lead to 34-31 .
