Hollands and Mlakar to Compete for Pac-10 Championship

OJAI, Calif. ?- Arizona seniors Dianne Hollands and Maja Mlakar continued their dominance over Pac-10 opponents with an 8-4 win over Southern California’s Diane Matias and Nicole Leimbach in a doubles semifinal at the Pac-10 Outdoor Championships on Saturday.


Hollands and Mlakar will face Stanford’s Anne Yelsey and Alice Barnes for the championship tomorrow.


In the doubles Invitational Draw, UA senior Kelly Perry and Kasia Jakowlew fell 8-4 to UCLA’s Elizabeth Lumpkin and Tracy Lin another semifinal.


Jakowlew was also in action in a singles Invitational Draw semifinal, but lost to Southern Cal’s Carine Vermeulen, 6-2, 6-3.


The final day of competition begins Sunday at 8 a.m., with the women’s singles championship taking place at Libbey Park at 9:30 a.m., followed by the men’s championship at 11 a.m.
