Men?s Tennis Drops Third Straight

Boise, Idaho ?- No. 46 Arizona (6-3) was unable to end its two match losing streaking, falling at No. 32 Boise State, 5-2. The Wildcats dropped two of the three doubles matches and only picked up two points in singles.


Roger Matalonga and Francois VanderMerwe collected the Wildcats only victory in doubles. They defeated the Broncos Eric Roberson and Piotrek Dijal, 8-6.


In singles play, Matalonga picked up his first win in four matches. The senior, playing in the No. 1 position, defeated Schoeck in three sets, 7-6, 3-6, 10-7. Claudio Christen picked up Arizona’s only other point with his victory over Roberson in the No. 4 spot, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6.


Peter Zimmer suffered his first loss on the season after winning four straight. He fell to Piotreck Dijal in straight sets, 7-6, 7-6.


The Wildcats will return to action in Boise, Idaho on Sunday, March 5, to face the College of William and Mary at 10 a.m.
