Three Wildcats Earn All-Region Soccer Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Seniors Lindsey Peeples and Candice Wilks and freshman McCall Smith have all earned NSCAA/Adidas All-West Region honors. The three led the Wildcats in the best season in the history of the program and all also earned All-Pac-10 honors. This season marks the first time that any Wildcat has earned NSCAA/Adidas Region honors.

Peeples was one of three defenders named to the NSCAA/Adidas second team. Starting 18 games as a defender, Peeples led a Wildcat defense that allowed only 11 goals against. She was one of three co-captains for the team. Earlier in the season she earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors.


Wilks also earned second-team honors. She led the Wildcat offense this season with seven goals and four assists. With four game-winning goals, she was a vital part of the Wildcats’ success.  She was also a first-team All-Pac-10 selection, making her the first player in the history of the program to earn All-Pac-10 accolades in all four seasons as a Wildcat.


Smith received a third-team selection for her efforts as the Wildcats’ goalkeeper. She recorded 11 shutouts while only allowing 11 goals against. She played every minute of the season and posted a 0.52 goals against average. She also earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors and was named as one of 12 finalists for Soccer Buzz’s Freshman of the Year award.
