Arizona Men?s Tennis Continue Play At National Collegiate Tennis Classic

Palm Springs, Calif. ?- The Arizona men’s tennis team completed the second-day of competition at the 2005 NCTC invitational, in Palm Springs, Calif. Saturday. Senior Colin O’Grady and No. 58 Roger Matalonga, continued action today for the Wildcats.


Matalonga continued singles action today by defeating No. 1 Catalin Guard, of the University of Mississippi, 6-4, 6-4, to advance onto the singles final of the NCTC. In later action, O’Grady fell, in his consolation match, to No. 104 Treat Huey, of Virginia, 6-1, 6-2.


The pair of Wildcats continued action in doubles today, as No. 18 Matalonga and O’Grady defeated No. 19 Rylan Rizza and Nick Meythaler, of Virgina, 8-3, to advance to the finals.


Matalonga and O’Grady will complete action tomorrow, as the pair will compete in the finals, along with Matalonga in the singles final. In action back home, the Wildcat’s are set to host Northern Arizona University, tomorrow, in the first home match of the season with first serve at 1:30 p.m. (MST)
