Volleyball Has Spirited Scrimmage

TUCSON- The Arizona Volleyball team had an intra-squad scrimmage today at McKale Center. It was an opportunity for the coaching staff to see the progress the players have made after a week of practice.

"Overall, I am encouraged with what I see," head coach Dave Rubio said. "We're still trying to find where certain players can play."

The scrimmage gave the players an opportunity to play with the new curtain, which will be down for home volleyball matches.

While Rubio is impresses with the progress already made. If feels there is still remove for improvement.

"Our serving and passing is still a work in progress," Rubio said after a scrimmage that lasted more than two hours.

Arizona opens the season on August 29, 2008, at the Sheraton Four Points Wildcat Classic against Weber State at 10:00 a.m. in McKale Center.
