For the fifth straight year, the University of Arizona women's basketball staff will be conducting a day long Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 29, beginning at 8 a.m. in McKale Center. The clinic is open to basketball coaches from all levels of competition.
UA women's head coach Joan Bonvicini and two of her assistants, Todd Holthaus and Jonelle Streed, will be joined by UA men's basketball assistant coach Josh Pastner and head coach George Maya from Mayfield High School in New Mexico as instructors for the clinic. Topics will include the UA's zone offense, developing practice drills, full court pressure, recruiting techniques and the UA men's basketball post play.
Cost of the clinic is $35 per person for registrations received before Oct. 15, and $45 for registrations received after that date. Clinic attendees will receive lunch, a clinic notebook, and speaker notes along with the opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches in the country. They will also get a chance to watch the 2004 Pac-10 champions in action immediately following the clinic in practice, with an officiated intrasquad scrimmage.
