Los Angeles ?- The University of Arizona women’s volleyball team (10-15, 1-12 Pac-10) fell to fifth-ranked UCLA (24-2, 11-2 Pac-10)  in three games on Saturday night in Pauley Pavilion.  Game scores were, 30-20, 30-17, and 30-27.

Freshman Whitney Dosty led Arizona with 11 kills, and junior Dominique Lamb notched eight kills on a .583 hitting percentage to go with a team-high seven blocks.

As a team, Arizona hit .147 (39-23-109) in the match and had 12.0 blocks, as UCLA hit .330 (50-16-103) in the three games.

In the second game, Arizona took an early lead at 5-3, but UCLA responded with a 16-4 run to take a 19-9 lead and cruise to a 30-17 game-two win behind a .370 (14-4-27) hitting percentage.  Arizona hit .000 (10-10-33) in the second game.

Arizona fought UCLA tough in the third game before the Bruins took the match-clinching win at 30-27.  The Wildcats and the Bruins were deadlocked at 14-14 before UCLA used a 6-0 run to create some distance at 20-14.  Arizona would respond with a 6-1 run of its own to cut the deficit to 21-20, but UCLA kept the Wildcats at least two-points away down the stretch for the three-point win.

Arizona will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 9 when the Wildcats host Oregon in McKale Center at 7 p.m.
