TUCSON - University of Arizona Coach Mike Stoops and staff signed 20 players to National Letters of Intent today, a class split evenly among offensive and defensive recruits. The signees join three players who enrolled at mid-year.

"Overall it's a fine class of players and we're really pleased with not only the result but the whole 2010 recruiting process," Stoops said. "We built great relationships with these guys and our entire staff.

"We were able to fill the most pressing needs, especially with the mid-year linebackers, some linemen on both sides of the ball, receivers and players in the secondary," Stoops said.

Including the student-athletes on campus, the Cats signed five offensive linemen, four receivers and a quarterback on offense; with five linemen, three linebackers and four secondary players on defense.

UA inked five prep stars from Arizona, among its highest total of in-state prospects among scholarship recruits in recent years, and also extended its national recruiting by bringing in players from Illinois, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Minnesota. As usual, Stoops' staff brought in players from Texas and California.
