TUCSON, Ariz. - The No. 18 Arizona women's tennis squad continued action today at the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif.
Arizona freshman Maja Mlakar and sophomore Debbie Larocque won two matches on Friday to advance to the doubles semifinals match.
The Wildcat duo defeated Oregon's duo of Janice Nyland and Ester Bak in the first round, 8-3. Washington's duo of Colleen Gray and Dea Sumantri were the next victims as Larocque and Mlakar topped them, 8-5. In the semifinal match on Saturday, UCLA's Lauren Fisher and Megan Bradley tripped up the Arizona duo, 9-8.
In singles play, UA freshman Dianne Hollands beat Washingtons' Ilona Kordonskaya, 6-4, 6-3. Hollands fell in the quarterfinals late Friday, losing to Stanford's Gabriela Lastra, 6-3, 6-2.
