Women?s Golf in 14th Place after First Two Rounds

The Arizona women’s junior varsity golf team is in 14th place at the Mountain View Intercollegiate after the first and second rounds.  The Cats shot a 302 in the first round and sit in 14th place with a 616 (+36) heading into the third and final round.


Wildcat freshman Adriana Zwanck took sole possession of first place in the individual category carding a 69 (-3) in the first round and a 72 (E) in the second.  Zwanck recorded a combined seven birdies in the first and second rounds.


Fellow classmates Brittany Pepler and Brooke Schneider are tied for 65th place.  Schneider shot a 77 (+5) in round one and 81 (+9) in round two.  Pepler carded a 79 (+7) in both rounds.


Junior Rachel Gavin shot a 77 (+5) in the first round and carded an 82 (+10) in the second round.  Rounding out the Wildcats squad was freshman Marisa Smith who shot an 82 (+10) and followed that with a 78 (+6).  The two Cats sit in 69th place and 71st place, respectively.


The University of Denver sits atop the leader board heading into the third and final round tomorrow.  The Pioneers shot 591 (+15) which was one stroke better than the trio of teams that are tied for second place.


The Wildcats tee off for the third and final round at 8:00 a.m. MST tomorrow.
