TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Tickets for the Arizona-Purdue football game this Saturday have been selling at a brisk pace. As of 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 50,600 tickets for the 56,002-seat Arizona Stadium have been sold for the 7 p.m. contest between the Wildcats and the No.12-ranked Boilermakers.

“We’re very pleased with the excitement and energy from the Southern Arizona community surrounding this game,” senior associate athletic director Chris Del Conte said. “However, we’d like to encourage all of our fans that haven’t bought tickets yet to purchase and pick them up at the McKale Center Ticket Office prior to Saturday. In doing so you’ll be able to avoid delays both at the game-day ticket office and upon entrance to Arizona Stadium.”

The Wildcats opened their home schedule last weekend in front of a crowd 54,728, the largest attendance for a home-opener since the 2000 season. Fans can purchase the remaining 5,000-plus tickets for the non-televised game against Purdue in person at the McKale Center Ticket Office, over the phone by calling 520-621-CATS (2287) or on the internet at
