TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona women's golf B-team finished in 17th, Sunday after its final day of competition at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
The Wildcats shot an 87-over-par 951 to finish 57 strokes behind tournament champion Denver after the Pioneers shot a 30-over-par 894. Iowa State and Colorado State finished tied in second after carding 38-over-par 902. International Pacific College (906) and San Diego State (906) tied in fourth to round out the top-five.
Individually Arizona sophomore Cassandra Kirkland tied for 37th place with four other golfers after shooting a 230 (+15).
Sophomore Katie Christy tied for 61st after shooting 22-over-par 237. Sophomore Whitney Welch and freshman Rachel Gavin tied for 73rd place after shooting 27-over-par 242 for the tournament.
The Wildcats will return to the course in the Ping/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. on April 2-4, 2004. The tournament will be contested on Karsten Golf Course.
