The Pioneers swept the doubles round and carried a one-point advantage with them into singles play. Neither was successful as Alcala was defeated by nationally ranked No. 19 Adam Holmstrom, and Christen lost a tough three-setter to Nejc Smole. Both contestants remained on serve until four-all. Zimmer then managed to break Persson&rsquo;s serve and hold his own to win the match 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.
