Tucson, Ariz. ?- University of Arizona volleyball coach Dave Rubio announced Thursday that three student-athletes have signed National Letters-of-Intent during the early signing period to attend school and play volleyball.  The trio will report to Arizona in the fall of 2007.

The Arizona volleyball early signing period class includes Tiffany Owens, Stephanie Snow, and Paige Weber.

“I am very excited to have these three talented players sign with our program,” Rubio said.  “Each player has the ability to make an immediate impact on our team next season.”

Owens, a 5-foot-11 left-side hitter from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., hails from Cajon HS in San Bernadino, Calif., and the Rancho Valley Volleyball Club.

“Tiffany is an exceptional athlete, who is dynamic, fast and explosive on the court,” Rubio said.  “She has played club volleyball at the highest level of competition in the country, and will be able to come in and impact our lineup right away.”

Snow, from Phoenix, Ariz., is a 6-foot-4 middle blocker out of Tempe’s Marcos de Niza HS and Arizona Juniors Volleyball Club.

“Stephanie has tremendous size and takes up a lot of space in the middle,” Rubio said. “She has a cannon for an arm, and we believe she has unlimited potential.  Her work ethic will allow her to develop into a top level Pac-10 Conference player.”

Weber, from Indianapolis, Ind., is a 5-foot-11 setter from Indianapolis Roncalli HS and Circle City Volleyball Club.  Weber helped Indianpolis Roncalli claim the state championship.

“Paige immediately addresses our need at the setter position,” Rubio said.  “Her leadership and competitiveness along with being a great setter will allow her to be able to come in and play for us right away.”

Arizona hosts Oregon tonight at 7 p.m., and will host Oregon State on Friday at 8 p.m. in McKale Center.
