TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona Athletics Department will close all men's basketball practices and shoot-arounds.

McKale Memorial Center's arena area will be closed to the campus, public and media from 2 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday for men's basketball practices. This would include those who want to watch practice and those who use the facility for exercise purposes. A security guard will be on hand to monitor individuals entering McKale for business purposes only.

The UA basketball office voice mail will be updated with important dates and times for Saturday scrimmages that are generally open to the public. Individuals may call 621-4813 for that information. Saturday, October 27th practice will be closed.

We hope our fans understand the severity of potential NCAA violations and that it is necessary for the department to implement such procedures, said UA athletics director Jim Livengood.
