Wildcat Women Tied for Fifth After Round Two

SAMMASH, Wash. ?- With two rounds of golf down and one more to go, the Arizona Wildcats are currently tied for fifth place at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. 


The Wildcats shot a 314 in round two, slipping 12 strokes from the 302 mark the team posted in round one.  Arizona is +26 (616) after two days, with the third and final round to come tomorrow. 


Lauren Espinosa continued to lead the Wildcats, shooting a +6 (78) in round two with a combined score of 152.  Joining Espinosa in 13th place is fellow freshman Wildcat Amanda Wilson.  Wilson started the day in 25th but shot a team-best +3 (75) in round two.  The two currently sit in a five-way tie for 13th place with a 152.


Arizona senior Lani Elston-Marshall shot a +7 (79), falling into an 11-way tie for 21st place.  Sommer Scholl and Cassandra Kirkland rounded out the Arizona squad, shooting a +10 (82) and a +18 (90), respectively. 


Arizona State took over the tournament lead in the second round with a 295 (595).  Pepperdine fell to second, followed by UNLV and Long Beach State.  USC joins Arizona in fifth place.  


The Cats tee off at 8 a.m. tomorrow for the third and final round.
