TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Junior cornerback Antoine Cason has been named to the preseason Sports Illustrated All-America team. The publication announced the 26-member team on its website on Wednesday.

Cason, who has started all 22 games and played every defensive down during his first two seasons at Arizona, enters the 2006 campaign as one of the leaders of what is considered to be among the top defensive backfields in the nation. Cason has recorded 120 total tackles in his first two years at UA, including 92 unassisted stops, and has seven interceptions, 11 passes broken up and three forced fumbles.

The Wildcats are currently in the midst of their fall camp in preparation for their season-opening game against BYU on Sept. 2 in Tucson.
