Softball Drops Second Consecutive Game

The Arizona softball team lost their second consecutive conference game on Sunday to the California Golden Bears, 2-1. The last time Arizona dropped two consecutive games was April of 2000.

California struck in the first inning as the Bears put two runners on. Courtney Scott brought in the first run with a single to left field, scoring Kaleo Eldredge from second.

Arizona countered in the top of the fourth inning as senior Jennie Finch homered to center field to tie the score 1-1.

California scored the final run of the game in the fifth inning as Candace Harper hit a solo homerun off of Arizona sophomore Jenny Gladding.

Gladding fell to 16-5 with the loss and Arizona fell to 41-7, 8-3 in the Pac-10.

The Cats return home on April 26th as they face the Oregon Ducks at 6 p.m.
