Arizona, BYU, Colorado State, Idaho, Louisville, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, San Diego State, UC Irvine and UNLV will play in Las Vegas this weekend.
Arizona is currently ranked No. 9 by the Golfweek/Sagarin Poll (2/12/12), No. 15 by Golfstat (2/15/12) and No. 23 by the Golf World/NGCA Coaches' Poll (11/28/11).
With individual and team records set, Arizona won its only home event of the season, the Wildcat Invitational. No. 22 Arizona finished atop the leader board with rounds of 285, 274 and 292 for a total of 851 (-13). UA's three-round total is a school record over 54 holes, replacing the previous best of 854 (-10), set by the 1998-99 squad at Randolph North Course, in Tucson. No. 1 UCLA earned a runner-up finish with rounds of 289, 283 and 291 for a total of 863 (-1). No. 8 Arizona State rounded out the top three with a score of 884 (+20). The Sun Devils had scores of 291, 296 and 297.
Gidali, competing in her first collegiate tournament, won the individual title with rounds of 67, 66 and 71 for a three-round total of 204 (-12). Her rounds of 66 and 67 rank tied for No. 2 and tied for No. 6, respectively, all-time at Arizona. Gidali's three day total of 204 (-12) is a new school record over 54 holes, replacing Lorena Ochoa's previous best of 206 (-10) from Trysting Tree Golf Club (Corvallis, Ore.) in 2001.
