TUCSON, Ariz. - Twenty-fifth ranked Arizona earned its first win of the year in its season home opener defeating Northern Arizona, 7-0, Sunday at the Robson Tennis Center.

The Wildcats did not drop a set in any of their six singles contests. UA senior Michelle Gough snapped a three match losing skid defeating NAU's Yvonne DeWaal, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 1 position. At the No. 4 position, Arizona junior Laresa Marino earned a victory defeating the Lumberjacks' Karen Kmiec, 6-3, 6-2. In the No. 6 singles match, UA junior Brooke Taylor defeated Northern Arizona's Michelle Mohr, 6-0, 6-3, halting a five match losing streak.

UA won all three doubles matches to win the doubles point.

Arizona returns to action this weekend when it plays host to Oregon on Friday, Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m. MST and New Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. MST.
