TUCSON -The University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team moved up four spots on day two of the NCAA East Regional Championships, from tied for 11th to seventh. Held at the Penn State Blue Golf Course in State College, Pa., competition will take place Thurs.-Sat., May 10-12. The Penn State Blue Golf Course is a par 72, 6,253-yard course.
No. 25 South Carolina continues to lead the team race with a two-round score of 582 (+6). No. 2 Alabama sits in second place with a 589 (+13). No. 15 Florida rounds out the top three with 591 (+15). The top three remains unchanged from round one. No. 18 Arizona sits in seventh, moving up four spots from Thursday, with a tally of 598 (+22). No. 37 Katerina Ruzickova of No. 12 Texas A&M continues to lead the individual race with a rounds of 67 and 73 for a total of 140 (-4).
No. 85 senior Margarita Ramos paced the Cats on day two with a round of 73 (+1). Combined with her 75 (+3) from Thursday, she now sits in a seven-way tie for 24th place with a score of 148 (+4). No. 19 freshman Manon Gidali moved from tied for 39th to tied for 31st with her second round of 74 (+2). She has a two-day total of 149 (+5). No. 88 senior Isabelle Boineau sits in a seven-way tie for 40th place. Her rounds of 75 (+3) and 75 (+3) give her a score of 150 (+6).
Senior Nikki Koller moved up 12 places to tied for 47th. She has a two-round score of 151 (+7) with cardings of 77 (+5) and 74 (+2). Junior Kyndall Ardoin rounds out the Arizona five in a tie for 108th place. She has scores of 82 (+10) and 79 (+7) for a total of 161 (+17).
Play at the NCAA East Regional Championships will conclude on Saturday with the top eight teams from each region advancing to the NCAA Championships.
