2005-2006: Went 3-3 in the fall season...Advanced to the finals of the Denver Fall Championships before falling to teammate Jason Labrosse...Competed in five matches in the spring all at the No. 6 spot...Finished the season 6-6 in singles...Paired with Roger Matalonga at the No. 6 position for most doubles matches...The pair finished with a 5-5 record including an upset win over Southern California’s No. 53 Jeff Kazarian and Kaes Van’t Hof.

2004-2005: Started off his freshman career for the Wildcats 4-0 in the Wilson Indoor Regionals before falling in the quarterfinals...He finished with a 7-5 overall record after going 3-1 in the spring...Went 2-3 in doubles play pairing with Mitchell Brown, Luka Cerenko, and Tim Mullane. 

High School: Pendleton, Stellenbasch, Cape Town, South Africa, 2004...Graduated from Pendleton with a 4.0 GPA...Played in several tournaments in Africa and the Caribbean during his first two years of high school...Did not play during his junior and senior years due to injury.

Personal: Born Francois Vandermerwe on Oct. 13, 1984, in Cape Town, South Africa...Son of Ann-Marie Vandermerwe...Mother is a licensed psychologist, but works as an English teacher...Father was a professional tennis player who reached a top ranking of 140, and later became a coach for prfessional tennis players Monica Seles and Amanda Coetzer...Francois has one sister, Rochelle who is 23 years old...Academic major is business management... Enjoys watching movies and listening to music.
