TUCSON, Ariz. - The No. 6 Arizona volleyball team (22-5), despite earning a No. 4 seed, will hit the road for the first round of the NCAA Tournament, where it will face Utah State (21-12) at the University of Utah at 6 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 2. The No. 4 seeding is the highest ever for the Wildcats, who are making their 10th-straight appearance in the single-elimination tournament.

"I feel like we did everything that we possibly could to prove ourselves this season and thought the committee would reward us," Head Coach David Rubio said. "I’m disappointed for our fans and for our players, who won’t get to play another match here at home. I’m not disappointed with our seeding, just the fact that we have to travel. That said, we’ll go to Salt Lake City and take care of business."

The winner of the Arizona/Utah State match will face the winner of the Utah (22-8)/Loyola Marymount (19-10) match in the second round of the tournament, which will be played at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Arizona, which has won five in a row, is 10-5 this year against NCAA Tournament teams. The Cats are 5-7 all-time vs. the Aggies.
