TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona men's basketball associate head coach Jim Rosborough will be inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Rosborough will be inducted for a standout playing career at Moline High School from 1960-62. As a forward, he averaged 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as a senior in 1961-62 in leading his team to a 21-3 record and berth in the Illinois state tournament. That squad was the No.1-ranked team in state during that 1961-62 campaign. As a junior in 1960-61, Rosborough's team advanced to the "Sweet 16" in the state tournament.

For his efforts as a senior, Rosborough earned first team all-Mississippi Valley Conference accolades, as well as all-Metro Moline and All-Quad Cities honors. He was a fourth team all-state selection in 1962.

"For anyone that's grown up in a state like Illinois, where basketball is so important, this certainly is special recognition," said Rosborough. "This is something I've always hoped for and am very honored to be inducted."

Interestingly, one of the players Rosborough will share induction with is Kenny Arnold, who starred at Chicago's Calumet High School in the late 1970s. Rosborough recruited Arnold to play at the University of Iowa, where he was an assistant from 1974-83, and the duo helped guide the Hawkeyes to the 1980 NCAA Final Four.

Now in his 27th year of intercollegiate athletics on the NCAA Division I level, Rosborough has spent the last 13 seasons as a member of the University of Arizona coaching staff. In that time frame, the Wildcats have won more than 80 percent of its games and advanced to the NCAA Final Four three times, winning the National Championship in 1997.

Rosborough will be inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame on April 27, 2002. Ceremonies will be held in Normal, Ill., on the campus of Illinois State University.
