<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>HILO, Hawaii - </STRONG>Arizona sophomore Preston Guilmet has been named the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week, commissioner Tom Hansen announced on Tuesday. The league honor is the second of the season for Guilmet and his third weekly recognition overall for the year.</FONT></P> <P><FONT size=2>Guilmet, from Citrus Heights, Calif., struck out a career-high 12 batters to help lead Arizona to a 2-1 victory over Hawaii in Honolulu on Friday. The right-hander held the Rainbows scoreless over eight solid innings, limiting Hawaii to just five hits in the rain-delayed game. He worked out of a pair of early jams, leaving the bases loaded in the second and stranding runners on second and third with no outs in the third. Guilmet struck out five of the final seven batters he faced on the night. His effort improved him to 4-0 on the year, tying him for the team lead for victories and lowered his ERA to 2.05 for the year, topping the list for any UA starter.</FONT></P> <P><FONT size=2>Arizona will face Hawaii-Hilo in pair of games tonight and Wednesday before returning to the Mainland on Thursday. Ryan Perry is expected to make his first start of the year against the Vulcans today, and Guilmet and Brad Mills will split tomorrow's pitching duties.</FONT></P>
