TUCSON, Ariz. - Sophomore Lindsay Blau won her second singles match in a row at the No. 1 position as she helped lead Arizona to a 7-2 victory over Washington State Friday at the Robson Tennis Center. Blau defeated the Cougars' Patrycja Gajdzjik, 6-3, 6-4.

In other singles action, Wildcat senior Vanessa Abel outlasted Washington State's Melissa Pine, 6-3, 6-2, in her first match at the No. 2 position this season. 86th-ranked freshman Uzma Khan logged a singles point for Arizona downing WSU's Tamara Filipovic, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 3 spot.

Washington State's Anna Maria Moura accounted for one of the two Cougar points with a upset victory of 91st-ranked junior Michelle Gough, 6-3, 6-4.

In doubles play, UA's fourth-ranked duo of Gough and Blau returned to their winning ways defeating WSU's Pine and Filipovic, 8-3.

Arizona returns to action Saturday when it plays host to 25th-ranked Washington Huskies at noon MST.
