Tucson, Ariz. ?C?Former Arizona volleyball All-American Kim Glass has turned in a pair of impressive performances to help lead the U.S. Womenˇ?s National Volleyball Team at the 2007 FIVB World Grand Prix in Rzeszow, Poland.
On Sunday, Aug. 5, the Lancaster, Pa., native led Team USA with 16 points on 12 kills, three blocks and an ace against China, the reigning Olympic champions. She also added 13 service receptions on 28 attempts with just two faults.
In her debut against Poland on Friday, Aug. 3, Glass registered nine points on four kills, three blocks and two aces.
Team USA will next travel to Khabarovsk, Russia, for matches against Cuba on Aug. 10, Russia on Aug. 11 and Kazakhstan on Aug. 12. The U.S. closes out the preliminary round at Macau, China, with contests against China on Aug. 17, Cuba on Aug. 18 and the Netherlands on Aug. 19.
Glass, a three-time All-American, finished her career at Arizona (2002-05) as the schoolˇ?s all-time leader in kills with 2,151.? She was a four-time All-Pac-10 First Team selection, and is the Arizona career leader in 11 different statistical categories.
