Mike Stoops signed two mid-year junior college transfers this week to join the Arizona football program in January, bringing in an offensive lineman and a tight end from the juco ranks.
Lineman Addison Bachman, 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, of Citrus College in California and tight end Drew Robinson, 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, of Snow College in Utah signed letters to enroll for the spring semester.
"We lose an entire offensive line and needed some mid-year help," Stoops said of bringing in the two who will contend across the front immediately. "It was important for us to bolster our depth on the line and at tight end." UA started six seniors at center, guard, tackle and tight end for most of its games this year.
Bachman preppred at Glendora, Calif., High School before attending Chaffey College where he redshirted 2008. He went on to Citrus and started the last two years, and will have two years of eligibility at UA. He earned first-team All-CIF honors for the Inland Division as a high school senior at Glendora.
Robinson, of Coalville, Utah, North Summit High, also ia a two-for-two recruit who redshirted at Snow College in 2008. He was a second-team all-state defensive end and tight end at North Summit his senior year, plus a basketball and wrestling star.
Arizona is expected to sign about 20 more recruits for the Class of 2011 during the spring National Letter of Intent period in February.
