TUCSON - Blair Young singled in pinch-runner Sara Rebling in the bottom of the eighth to give the Panthers a 2-1 victory over Eastern Michigan in Saturday night's late game in Arizona's Worth Wildcat Invitational softball tournament.

Rebling subbed for Melissa King, who was placed on second by the international tie-breaker rule. A wild pitch moved her to third before Young's single to right.

EMU opened the scoring in the first with an unearned run scoring on an error.

UNI scored an unearned run in the third on Stacey Sampson's RBI single after Melissa Larson reached on an error and was sacrificed to second.

UNI improved to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in tourney play. Eastern Michigan is 1-3 overall after starting its season in Tucson.
