TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona freshman Dianne Hollands won her opening round match against UCLA's Sarah Gregg at the Pac-10 Championships, 7-6, 6-4. Hollands, ranked No. 102, earned her 13th win of the season over Gregg.

In other singles play, UA freshman Maja Mlakar, ranked No. 17, fell to Washington State's Lorena Arias, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2. Wildcat sophomore Debbie Larocque, ranked No. 59, lost a three-set match to Washington State's No. 99 Stacy McKenna, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. In the Wildcats final match of the first round, sophomore Perrine Pernin was tripped up by California's Raquel Kops-Jones, 6-4, 6-2. Jones is ranked No. 32 in the nation.

The Wildcats continue action tomorrow at the Pac-10 Championships.
