TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf program and second year head coach Laura Ianello have announced the competition schedule for the 2011-12 season. The squad will compete in four fall tournaments and five spring events before the championship portion of the season starts.
The fall schedule will include competition at the Fall Preview, hosted by Vanderbilt in Franklin, Tenn., the Windy City Intercollegiate, hosted by Northwestern in Chicago, the Pac-12/SEC Challenge, hosted by Tennessee in Knoxville, and the Betsy Rawls Invitational, hosted by Texas in Austin.
The spring will start with the hosting of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational, at the Golf Club at Vistoso, in Oro Valley, Ariz. Play will continue at the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas, the Battle at Rancho Bernardo hosted by San Diego State, the ASU PING Invitational in Tempe and the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, hosted by Oregon and UC-Davis in San Francisco.
The championship portion of the schedule will start with the Pac-12 Championships, hosted by Washington State at Palouse Ridge Golf Club, in Pullman. The NCAA Regional Championships, with location TBA, will be held May 5-7. The collegiate season will culminate with the NCAA Championships, hosted by Vanderbilt, in Franklin, Tenn.
