Arizona’s Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams released their schedule for the 2011-12 season on Thursday. The Wildcats will compete under three first-year coaches, including head coach Eric Hansen and assistant coaches Geoff Hanson and Tracy Duchac.
The women will open the season on Oct. 8 when they host Kansas at Hillenbrand Aquatic Center at 10 a.m. On Oct. 21, the Wildcats will host UNLV, followed by Wisconsin on Nov. 4.
Arizona will compete in its first Pac-12 meet when it hosts UCLA on Nov. 12 and then will travel to Austin, Texas for the Texas Invitational Dec. 1-3 to conclude 2011.
The Wildcats will open 2012 when the women’s team welcomes Oregon State, Northern Arizona, New Mexico State and Iowa to Hillenbrand on Jan. 6, while the men compete in a dual meet with Iowa.
The men and women will then travel to California for a couple of conference meets to take on California on Jan. 20 and Stanford on Jan. 21.
Texas will then travel to Tucson to challenge Arizona in a dual meet on Jan. 28 and the Wildcats will wrap up their regular season versus Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz. on Feb. 11.
The first-ever Pac-12 Championships will be held in Long Beach, Calif. March 1-3. The Women’s NCAA National Championship will be in Auburn, Ala. March 15-17, while the Men’s NCAA National Championship will take place in Seattle March 22-24.
The diving team will compete in the USC Diving Invite in Los Angeles Nov. 4-5, host the Arizona Diving Invite Nov. 18-20 and travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for the USA Diving Nationals Dec. 19-23.
The divers will open their postseason competition Feb. 23-25 at the Pac-12 Diving Championships in Seattle and the Zone E Diving Qualification Competition will take place in Colorado Springs, Colo. March 8-10.
