BERKELEY, Calif. -
Arizona volleyball (10-4, 2-3) fell to No. 4 California (14-2, 4-2) 3-0, on Friday in at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif., 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21).
Freshman Madi Kingdon (Phoenix, Ariz.) led the Wildcats in kills with 12, while senior Cursty Jackson (Los Angeles) led with four blocks. Sophomore Candace Nicholson (Long Beach, Calif.) led all players in digs with 13.
Tarah Murrey and Shannon Hawari led the Golden Bears with 13 kills each and Elly Barrett added 43 assists. Kat Brown had four blocks and three players recorded double-digit digs.
“It was a frustrating match,” Arizona head coach David Rubio said. “We played well enough to pull out one of the games, but we just broke down at the wrong time and could not execute at the right times, but we are getting closer.”
Arizona will look to rebound at No. 6 Stanford on Sunday in Palo Alto, Calif. at 1 p.m.
