First Day of Wildcat Diving Invite Complete

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona diver Ben Grado captured the men’s one meter diving title today during the first day of the Wildcat Diving Invite at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.


Grado used a score of 392.65 to top competitors from 14 various universities. The next closest score belonged to USC’s Harrison Jones who turned in a 379.65.


“I’m very proud of Ben’s accomplishment today,” said head diving coach Michele Mitchell. “For him to be able to win the first event held in the new dive pool is really special.”


Craig Sheedy, Matt McCahill and Andres Guerra each competed in the one meter dive as well.


In the women’s three meter event, Ainsley Oliver placed fourth overall with a score of 283.70.


The Wildcat Invite will continue on through the weekend with  the men’s one meter and women’s three meters.
