TUCSON, Ariz. ?- The Arizona Football team continued spring drills with a two-hour practice session on Monday. The session was the eighth of 15 spring days allowed by the NCAA.


            The team went through the standard drills including special teams, 7-on-7, 11-on-11 and individuals.


 The Wildcats completed their second scrimmage of the spring on Saturday, which was highlighted by the play of red-shirt linebacker Brandon Lopez. The Tucson native tallied seven tackles during the two-hour scrimmage.

Offensively, junior Adam Austin continues to take the offensive snaps in place of injured starter sophomore Richard Kovalcheck. Austin finished Saturday’s scrimmage 21 of 35 for 326 yards and one touchdown.



Arizona will return to the practice field on Wednesday and Friday of this week, before holding the third scrimmages of the spring on Saturday. The Saturday scrimmages, which begin at 9:30 a.m., are open. The weekday practices remain closed to the general public. The annual spring game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Arizona Stadium on April 23.
