TUCSON, Ariz.Junior middle blocker Marisa DaLee, who led Arizona to a 4-1 mark and a sweep of No. 18 San Diego last week, was named the first Pac-10 Player of the Week recipient of 1999. It was the second such honor for DaLee, who also won it last Nov. 2, and was the 10th ever by a Wildcat.

DaLee hit .345 while averaging 4.18 kills and 1.29 blocks per game through the Cats' first five matches. The 6-foot-3 native of Phoenix leads Arizona in kills, digs, blocks and hitting percentage. DaLee put up these numbers without the assistance of the Cats' regular setter, Dana Burkholder, who missed last week's action while competing for the U.S. Junior National Team at the World Championships in Canada.

DaLee's career hitting percentage stands at .372. With 48 more attack attempts, she will qualify for Arizona's career leaders list and will shatter Erin Aldrich's current mark of .300, set from 1996-97.
