“We got off to a good start today, we just did not play the last three holes very well,”
Junior Alison Walshe completed the day with a 74 (+2) to tie for 9th place, bringing her two-day total to a one-over 145. Walshe collected her second eagle of the tournament, again on the third hole.
Sophomore Adriana Zwanck shot the best round of the day for the Wildcats after carding an even 72 to move into a tie for 23rd place. The
Sophomore Amanda Wilson and junior Mary Jacobs carded identical scores of 77(+5) in the second round of play. Both Wilson and Jacobs are tied for 32nd with totals of 149 (+5). Jacobs collected an impressive five birdies in the second round, to give her seven birdies through 36 holes.
Senior Rachel Gavin struggled in the second round, shooting an eight-over 80 to bring her total score to 158 (+14). The lone senior on the Wildcat team is tied for 77th going into tomorrow’s final round.
“We have a lot of work to do tomorrow,” Allen explained, “We have to play well tomorrow to have a chance, but second place is realistic. I am still very encouraged by this team, we have been playing well.”
The tournament concludes tomorrow, with a final round tee time of 8:30am.
